This is a rare offering from Santa Cruz, a twelve-fret slope featuring a deep all mahogany body with pre-war dimensions and X-bracing. According to Richard Hoover there were only two of these made. Condition is very good, with finish checking on the top, back and edge of the fingerboard. The frets are in great shape. The neck has a soft "V" profile and is very comfortable. Pyramid style Ebony bridge. Ebony fingerboard with only side dot markers. Includes Santa Cruz hardshell case.
This guitar is an incredible strummer! It has huge, warm vintage tone and provides an intimate playing experience. The midrange is full - as one would expect from a Hog Top - but never gets muddy. A great value for a special guitar.
