We are big fans of the creations of Ciaran McNally of Northern Ireland! This one features a beautiful Sinker Redwood top paired with a nicely grained set of English Walnut for the back and sides. The Redwood is very responsive and a good choice for fingerstyle players, while at the same time it's stiff enough to handle a sturdy strum. Paired with Walnut, this a very versatile wood combination!
The elegant simplicity of this Jumbo McNally is highlighted by its many Ebony appointments: Bridge, fingerboard, binding, headstock veneers back and front, gear buttons, as well as a sound hole insert.
McNally has employed the innovative Manzer wedge (named for the highly acclaimed World Class Canadian guitar maker Linda Manzer) in this build. It adds comfort and playability by tapering the bass side of the lower bout, without compromising sound.
For those who have not experienced Sinker Redwood as a soundboard, it has a crisp and direct tone with good note separation. It rings when strummed and is articulate when fingerpicked. This is truly a world-class guitar and could fill an empty niche in your collection!
