We are big fans of the creations of Ciaran McNally of Northern Ireland! This guitar is a re-imagined version of a McNally custom jumbo that we had in the shop for a brief stay some time ago before it was snatched up by one of our discerning customers. This one features a beautiful book matched Redwood soundboard with a nicely grained set of English Walnut for the back and sides.
The Redwood is responsive to the fingertip and a good choice for fingerstyle players, while at the same time it's tough enough to handle a sturdy strum. Paired with Walnut, this a very versatile wood combination!
Notice the fine detailing in the binding / purfling, the ebony bound sound hole, the ebony backplate on the headstock. Simple and clean, yet elegant!
McNally executes the innovative Manzer wedge perfectly - the body is not as deep on the 'player side' where your arm reaches over. More playing comfort, without giving up anything on the tone and volume quality coming out of the soundbox. Let us know if you'd like a closeup photo to better illustrate the Manzer wedge. (This innovative body design is named for the highly acclaimed World Class Canadian guitar maker Kinda Manzer).
Basic specs: 1-3/4" nut width, long scale at 25.4". 16" across the lower bout; 12" across the upper bout.
