Dermot McIIroy, along with his wife Colleen, started McIlroy Musical Instruments on March 6, 2000. He already had 21 years of experience behind him, including 10 years at Lowden Guitar where he was involved in all aspects of guitar making, including serving as production manager. His builds echo the Lowden tradition yet have their own vibe. This A25 is a mid-sized jumbo with a Cedar top and English Walnut back and sides. It features an ebony bridge, headplate and fretboard with Celtic inlay at the twelfth fret. Beautiful abalone adorns the rosette.
25 1/2" Scale length
1 3/4" Nut width
4 7/16" Soundhole diameter
Santos Rosewood with Pear, Maple and Rosewood purfling
Gold Gotoh SG318 gears with Amber pearloid buttons
Dermot has mastered the Cedar/Walnut tone wood combination. It produces a well-balanced sound with superb responsiveness. We are proud to represent McIlroy Guitars here in the US! The A25 is a regular seller for the shop due to its exquisite beauty and great tone. Comes with a high-quality Hiscox hard case.
