This handsome 000-Custom from Huss and Dalton features a top made of vintage Sitka Spruce from the collection of esteemed luthier Walter Lipton. It is paired with Myrtlewood back and sides and is trimmed with Rosewood binding and a herringbone rosette. Twelve frets to the body and short scale for great response. We traveled down to Staunton VA to pick out wood for this build, and when we learned that there was some Lipton Spruce available, we had to have it!
There is a transparency to the Myrtlewood that really allows the warmth and articulation of the top to come through. The trebles don't overpower, giving a nice even, almost buttery tone-as you'll hear in Doug's demonstration video.
