With the help of Jim Hurst, Gallagher designed a model to fit the needs of a versatile guitar player like Jim! The Jim Hurst Signature is a slope shoulder body with mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top. The body, fretboard, and headstock are bound with tortoiseshell, and the body has a built-in armrest. The neck has a 1 3/4″ nut spacing and a larger C-shaped profile. The ebony fretboard is inlayed with 3mm abalone dots, while the ebony headstock veneer is inlayed with a handsome abalone "G". The Jim Hurst Signature is fitted with nickel Schaller tuners, and Jim's signature is on the label inside.
This guitar can be worked hard, whether you are picking bluegrass or belting out some down-home blues. There is a handsome simplicity to this instrument, and the craftmanship that is the hallmark of Gallagher is evident throughout.
