This new model from our friends at Atkin really sets itself apart from the rest. A baked Sitka top is mated to nicely flamed maple sides and back. With a smaller body at 14 3/4" lower bout, this '36' model is unassuming in appearance but mighty fun to play! The vintage-era ebony nut is 1 11/16" in width. It has 24 7/8" scale length. The mahogany neck has a soft V shape that gets quite chunky up high - you can really dig in.
Other features include pre-war scalloped bracing, a handsomely engraved and hand painted pickguard, and 'Kingfisher' headstock decal.
We think this is a great fingerstyle blues/ragtime guitar with a bit of attitude and honk! Playing slide on it brings out a nice snarl, very friendly to open tunings. Includes a hardshell case. Check out the video featuring our friend Doug Yeomans.
