Wow! Just arrived from Furch Guitars, this Red Deluxe Gc-LI, a cutaway auditorium with an Alpine Spruce soundboard and a beautiful set of Malaysian Blackwood for the back and side set. This is new - it's among the first Furch guitars built using Malaysian Blackwood.
This tone wood is harder and a bit heavier, with a higher density fairly close to Brazilian Rosewood. Tonally, many will find it hard to distinguish the sound of this guitar from a similarly built auditorium guitar with a Brazilian Rosewood.
As with all Furch guitars, the soundboard on this guitar is individually voiced. Red Series Furchs add the same voicing technology to the back of the guitar, and syncopate the top and back. This makes for a powerful sound which you can feel in your core!
Basic Specs: 1-3/4" nut width, long scale at 25-9/16".
