In the 1930s Hawaiian music was the fad and vaudevillian Roy Smeck was known as "Wizard of the Strings". It was in this era that Gibson created the Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe. It was a larger, lightly braced slope shouldered instrument with a short scale and 12 frets to the body. This gave it a huge, sweet tone. Soon traditional players picked up on the design and its fabulous sound.
This Atkin homage to that model features a baked Sitka top is finished in a nice, tight sunburst. The back and sides are Mahogany. This guitar has a classic vibe and is inspirational to play!
